My art is inspired by the beauty of nature. I am particularly interested in the interplay of light, shadow and colour. I like strong contrasts and unusual combinations of objects and colours. The beauty of the human form also provides me with a wealth of subject matter.

I like to convey the emotions of joy, humour and sometimes darkness, in my work.

In my current work, I am increasingly drawn to the freedom of abstract art and enjoy various textures and layers achieved using mixed media. I work mainly in acrylic and oils. I love the buttery feel of oil paints.

My influences are diverse ranging from the French and Australian Impressionists, such as Monet and Arthur Streeton through to Modernists including Jackson Pollock and John Olsen. My style is continually evolving and I like to experiment with different media.
